Prime Minister Guido Bellido on Saturday affirmed that complying with the immunization process against COVID-19 is a civic duty, indicating that it is important to receive both doses in order to be properly protected from the virus.

In this sense, the high-ranking official —as well as Environment Minister Ruben Ramirez— received the first Sinopharm dose at Lima's Parque de La Exposicion (Park of the Exposition) during the Fifth Vaccinathon, which opened this morning and runs thru Sunday evening.

"I invite everyone, who received the first dose, to come here to get the second one applied," he expressed.

Health Minister Hernando Cevallos was also present at the vaccination center in order to supervise the startup of the event.

Likewise, the Cabinet chief pointed out that the agreements reached during the recent National Agreement session must be implemented to fulfill the commitments made.

Concerning the designation of Oscar Maurtua as Foreign Affairs Minister, Bellido mentioned that Maurtua must follow the path established by the Government, adding that he respects the opinion of the people who were against the appointment.
