Peruvian super featherweight world champion Kina Malpartida successfully defended her WBA title by defeating Thai chellenger Sriphrae Nonqkipahuyuth by way of a TKO in the sixth round.
Malpartida dominated the action until Panamanian referee Gustavo Padilla stopped the fight at Miguel Grau Coliseum in the Callao region of Peru.
Malpartida raises her record to 14-3 and 4 KOs. Sriphrae drops to 11-2-1 and 4 KOs, boxingscene.com reported.
Against Nongkipahuyuth, Malpartida made the fifth defense of the title she won via TKO 10 over Maureen Shea in 2009.
She has also defended against Halana Dos Santos (TKO 7), Lyndsey Scragg (UD 10), Liliana Palmera (UD 10) and was last seen defeating American Rhonda Luna via near-shutout 10-round decision last April.
Also on the show, Peruvian Jonathan Maicelo (16-0, 9 KOs), won by unanimous decision over nine rounds, against Ecuadorian contender Fernando Angulo (24-9) to caputre the vacant WBA lightweight Fedecentro title.
