Health Minister Pilar Mazzetti on Wednesday affirmed that "we are all tired" of the pandemic, and although we may want to go to a party or meet with relatives for New Year holidays, it is time to maximize the measures to avoid contracting COVID-19.

The high-ranking official criticized the fact that many people are seen in the streets with their masks put on incorrectly, probably due to fatigue.

However, she reminded citizens that if "we wear them properly, we will not only protect ourselves and our families, but the whole society."

Within this framework, the Cabinet member pointed out that —so far— the new variant of COVID-19 found in the United Kingdom has not been located in Peru.

Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, as well as Ministers Pilar Mazzetti (Health) and Jose Luis Chicoma (Production), offered a press conference to report on the latest measures adopted by the transitional Government in the face of the increase of COVID-19 cases in the South American country.
