Peru's FA Min: Purchase of COVID-19 vaccines was a priority task

Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Allan Wagner on Saturday affirmed that a priority task for the ministry was to contribute to the purchase of vaccines against COVID-19.

In this sense, the high-ranking official explained that this task was carried out under the guidance of the Health Ministry, supported by a team comprised of President Francisco Sagasti, Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, and other ministers.

Likewise, the diplomat pointed out that ambassadors worked on this goal and the results have been favorable, despite the difficult circumstances.



The ambassador went on to add that the 2021 general elections were another priority for his office.

In this sense, Wagner indicated that the Foreign Affairs Ministry worked as an agency of the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) through its consulates in charge of organizing, renting venues, as well as receiving and submitting information.

Furthermore, he highlighted the beginning of "Peru's Bicentennial week in the world," which compiles digital material distributed to embassies and consulates to showcase what has meant discovering Peru, placing emphasis on its history and culture.
