Peru's FA, Fin Ministers meet with OECD Secretary-General

Peruvian Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Ana Cecilia Gervasi, and Economy-Finance, Alex Contreras, held a meeting with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Secretary-General Mathias Cormann.

Said event took place within the framework of the Peruvian delegation's participation in the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos.

During the meeting, the OECD Secretary-General reiterated his support for Peru's accession process to the OECD, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported via its official Twitter account.


Within this framework, the authorities agreed that this process will contribute to the strengthening of policies and institutions.


In this regard, Australian Ambassador to Peru, Maree Ringland, indicated that her country is closely following up on the progress made in the South American country's accession to the OECD.

"We welcome the meeting held with Mathias Cormann. An important message about supporting the strengthening of public policies and institutions," read a Spanish-language message on her official Twitter account.


Other meetings

Foreign Affairs Minister Gervasi also held a meeting with the Vice-President of the Dominican Republic, Raquel Peña, in order to evaluate the strengthening of the bilateral relationship.

Both of them agreed to promote the diplomatic consultation mechanism for February 2023.


Moreover, the Cabinet member held a bilateral meeting with her Ecuadorian counterpart, Juan Carlos Holguin.

They discussed issues on the bilateral agenda with a view to commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Peace Accords, as well as the coordinated position at regional forums such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
