Peru received the invitation from the Council of the
Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to start the process of
accession to this institution,
Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Maurtua reported on Tuesday.
Likewise, Ambassador Maurtua stressed that this is a historic event for the South American country, as the OECD recognizes the efforts made over years to implement the standards and good practices required by this institution.
In addition, the diplomat indicated that Peru's entry into the OECD will directly benefit its citizens.
