After sailing more than 3,000 nautical miles over the waters of the Indian Ocean, the sailing training ship B.A.P. Union arrived on November 1 at the Mumbai Port Trust in India.

According to the Embassy of Peru in India, this visit marks one of its stopovers during its ten-month circumnavigation around the world.

Moreover, it takes place within the framework of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Peru.

During the opening ceremony, distinguished Indian navy authorities highlighted the importance of this event as another step in the strengthening of the relations between both nations.

The BAP Union ship will stay in the Mumbai Port Trust from November 1st to 5th and will be offering a warm welcome to delegations from Mumbai institutions as the Indian Navy, the Shipping of India, the Cathedral and John Connon School, and the DY Patil University.

It should be pointed out that this is the seventh landing point of the emblematic Peruvian vessel on its journey around the world.

The aim is to train future naval officers in the seafaring arts and promote the image of Peru in the countries that it visits.
