Peru wrestler Sixto Barrera to train for Bolivarian Games in US

Peruvian wrestler Sixto Barrera Ochoa will train for one month in the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs thanks to a Sports Grant arranged by the Peruvian Olympic Committee (COI).

Barrera is currently training for the Bolivarian Games to be held in Cochabamba-Bolivia, reported the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD).

According to IPD, Barrera will be able to train with the best wrestlers of the US.

Barrera's trip was possible thanks to the economic support of the IPD, who contributed with s/.5,785.75 to pay for the tickets, stay and food.

This Sports Grant covers his training at the Colorado Springs World Arena. He will stay in this city until August 23rd.

In case the Bolivarian Games get canceled, Sixto Barrera could go to La Habana-Cuba to consolidate his training.

His past achievements include: gold medal at the Bolivarian Games in Colombia 2005; gold medal at the VIII South American Games Odesur, Buenos Aires 2006; and silver medal at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro 2007.
