Peruvian capital Lima has been revealed as the host of the 2015 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Junior Championships, it was reported on Thrusday.
Lima was the only city campaigning to host the World Junior Championships, but the BWF Council still needed to ensure the bid met the necessary criteria, particularly with the proposed venue - the National Sports Village - still currently under construction.
Peruvian Badminton Sports Federation President Zarko Cukic thanked the BWF for showing confidence in the capital city's ability to host the flagship junior competition and said it is "an opportunity to promote badminton in the region and for officials to get more experience".
"We will be able to consolidate the BWF brand in our region," he added.
