The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported that Peruvian goods exports increased by 34% between January and August 2026, reaching US$74.122 billion.
The figures recorded so far this year have enabled Peruvian exports to accumulate 28 consecutive months of uninterrupted growth, reflecting the positioning of our export offering in international markets.
The growth was mainly driven by higher sales of mining products, which totaled US$53.899 billion, a 50.6% increase, largely due to high international copper prices.
Among the products that stood out the most were copper (US$25.561 billion / +47.5%), gold (US$18.876 billion / +54.8%), lead and silver concentrates (US$3.894 billion / +103.3%), and zinc (US$1.912 billion / +9.8%).
Meanwhile, among the non-traditional value-added sectors, agricultural exports stood out (US$7.586 billion / +2.1%), as did the chemical sector (US$1.397 billion / +11.3%) and the metallurgical sector (US$1.426 billion / +18.3%).
In the agricultural and livestock sector, fruit exports stood out, including blueberries (US$1.082 billion / +46.5%), grapes (US$816 million / +17.6%), avocados (US$1.417 billion / +7.8%), and pomegranates (US$146 million / +28.7%), as well as quinoa (US$112 million / +21.3%).
Regarding the chemical sector, higher sales of sulfuric acid (US$101 million / +31.1%) and medicines (US$62 million / +9.4%) stood out.
As for the metallurgical sector, copper products (US$884 million / +12.4%), refined zinc ingots (US$246 million / +16%), and alloyed silver (US$174 million / +57.4%) stood out.
Meanwhile, in the textile and apparel sector, textile fibers stood out (US$124 million / +14.7%).
Likewise, the number of exporters continued to grow in the first eight months of 2026 (+3%), reaching 8,741.
Of these, 67% are micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
Main markets
From January to August 2026, exports grew to all of Peru's main trading partners, with China, the United States, and the European Union being the main destination markets.
Goods worth US$28.261 billion (+39%) were exported to China.
Meanwhile, exports to the US were valued at US$7.146 billion (+24%), and those to the EU at US$6.744 billion (+9%).
Higher exports to India (US$6.446 billion / +100%), Canada (US$3.702 billion / +24.4%), and Switzerland (US$3.006 billion / +80%) also stood out.
So far in 2026, exports have already reached record levels in destinations such as Australia (US$1.754 billion / +109%), Hong Kong (US$1.564 billion / +884%), Malaysia (US$587 million / +360%), and Singapore (US$270 million / +271.5%), surpassing their historical annual values.
