Peru to enter Top 10 List of attractive countries for mining investments in 2021

16:44 | Toronto (Canada), Mar. 4.

Energy and Mines Minister Francisco Ismodes on Monday affirmed Peru will join the Top Ten rankings by the Fraser Institute on attractiveness for mining investments.

"We are working to improve the (current) position in order to reach the Top Ten in the next two years," the official indicated.

Likewise, he presented the 2030 Strategic Plan for Mining, adding Peru has a projects portfolio exceeding US$59.130 billion

Minister Ismodes went on to add the Peruvian State promotes private investments in the mining and hydrocarbon sectors.

For that reason, information committees have been created in diverse regions of the Inca country to serve as the coordination links between companies and the State, with the purpose of facilitating access and use of mining data to generate dialogue with communities.

The event, which kicked off last Sunday, will come to an end on March 6.
