on Thursday made official the appointments of Ines Marylin Choy Chong, Luis Miguel Palomino Bonilla, and Gustavo Adolfo Yamada Fukusaki to the
Board of Directors as Executive Branch representatives.
The recitals of the resolution state that Article 86 of Peru's Political Constitution establishes that the BCR is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors.
Under the Constitution, the Executive Branch is responsible for appointing four of its members.
The same article also provides that all members of the BCR's Board of Directors are appointed for the constitutional term corresponding to that of the President of the Republic.
It also states that they do not represent any entity or particular interest.
The Supreme Resolution was signed by the President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori Higuchi, Prime Minister Luis Galarreta Velarde, and Economy and Finance Minister Elmer Cuba Bustinza.
