Peru: San Marcos University's top students to complete internship at Harvard

08:00 | Lima, Apr. 25.

For the second year in a row, Lima-based San Marcos University will send the top two students from each of the 65 professional schools to the United States to complete an internship at Harvard University, as well as strengthen their leadership, innovation, and research skills.

This way, 130 San Marcos students in the third year will represent the South American nation during their two-week stay at the US-based institution.

Once there, students will attend face-to-face workshops and take guided tours to universities, institutes (including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology—MIT), two innovation centers, and three companies related to their field of study.

The first group —composed of students in faculties of Engineering and Economic and Management Sciences— will travel from April 29 to May 11, 2018.

The second group —including students in Health Sciences and Basic Sciences programs— will be abroad from June 3 through June 16.

Finally, a group of students in the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Legal Sciences will depart on July 15 and return on July 28.

The program is promoted by San Marcos' Undergraduate Academic Vice-Rectorate in partnership with the Academic and Professional Programs for the Americas (Laspau).
