The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, stated on Wednesday that the Government's vision is to build a more productive, competitive, and inclusive economy that generates benefits for all Peruvians throughout the national territory and fosters development.
"Today, we are taking an important step toward the future, and we are doing so with a clear vision: to build a more productive, more competitive, and, above all, more inclusive economy—an economy capable of creating opportunities for all Peruvians, regardless of where they were born," she said.
The ceremony was held at the Government Palace in Lima.
During the event, the High-Level Commissioners for structural reforms and increased productivity in Peru were introduced.
Within this framework, the Head of State emphasized that the Executive Branch is working to streamline public administration.
The top official added that efforts are underway to implement the changes that are needed.
President Fujimori also thanked the professionals who accepted the challenge and responsibility and now serve as High-Level Commissioners for structural reforms and increased productivity in Peru.
The Head of State explained that these specialists will form four high-level groups responsible for formulating evidence-based technical guidelines to address four priority challenges: tackling labor informality, limited access to financing, deficiencies in public investment, and low tax compliance.
The top official said these axis reinforce one another, as formal employment boosts productivity; access to financing fosters economic growth; efficient public investment ensures better services; and sustainable tax collection strengthens a State capable of effectively serving the entire population.
Moreover, the President noted that Peru has resources and great potential, but that something that had been scarce in recent years was lacking: political determination and courage.
Therefore, together with Economy Minister Elmer Cuba, it was decided to establish these four high-level groups.
"Our country needs everyone. Individual efforts are not enough. The task ahead is enormous, and we will achieve it only if we all push together in the same direction," she stated.
