The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has raised Peru's export forecast to a record level of US$85 billion for the end of this year, up from the previous projection (US$83 billion).

"For the end of 2025, we estimate reaching a new export record of US$85 billion, which would represent growth of over 12% compared to last year's figures," Mincetur head Teresa Mera indicated.

"Between January and September of this year, the figures remain encouraging and promising, as our exports have exceeded US$62.864 billion, marking a 17.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024," she added.

According to the government official, "this progress is explained by higher export volumes as well as rising international prices, showing that Peru's foreign trade is dynamic, competitive, and sustainable."

The government official highlighted that agro-exports are expected to exceed US$14 billion in 2025, compared to the US$12 billion recorded in 2024.

"Fishing has also experienced an increase in export figures, as it is expected to reach a value of over US$4.5 billion this year," she stated.

The minister stated that, to ensure the export sector's continued growth, the Government of Transition and National Reconciliation is committed to redoubling efforts to boost the internationalization of Peruvian companies.

"Thus, we strengthen the productive and export capacities of SMEs across all regions of the country, so that Peru’s quality and talent reach the world's most demanding markets," she stated.

Minister Mera participated in the International Forum on Export Diversification "Connecting Peru with the World."

This event was organized by Mincetur and the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru), within the framework of Exporter's Day.

"Today we commemorate Exporter's Day, a date on which we pay tribute to the thousands of Peruvians who, with their talent, effort, and vision, drive Peru's economy through foreign trade," she concluded.
