will strengthen bilateral relations and promote investments, Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry highlighted Friday.
According to the legislative resolution authorizing the trip, the Head of State will be overseas from February 24 to March 3, 2019.
It should be noted this will be the first time the top official visits the European continent as the Inca country's President.
"This visit to two countries that are particularly close to Peru, with which we maintain privileged relations, will enable us to reinforce our presence with two Ibero-American partners and with numerous common interests," the portfolio expressed.
Portugal
President Vizcarra will visit
Portugal on February 25-26. There, he will hold meetings with his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Prime Minister Antonio Costa, as well as other high-ranking authorities.
This will be the first time a Peruvian Head of State visits Portugal.
Likewise, the statesman will participate in a business forum —in which the Inca country will be the central theme— in order to promote Peru as a destination for investment, trade, and tourism opportunities.
Spain
On the other hand, President Vizcarra will travel to Spain on February 27 thru March 1.
In addition, an investment roadshow —organized by InPeru— will be inaugurated. This event is directed to executives of the
Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations (CEOE). Plus, its goal is to boost the Inca country's image as an attractive destination for foreign investments.
