Peru: Presidential candidate Rafael Belaunde votes

Presidential candidate Rafael Belaunde Llosa, representing Libertad Popular (Popular Liberty), cast his ballot on Sunday in Lima's San Isidro district as part of the 2026 General Elections.

The aspirant arrived early in the morning to vote at Reina de la Paz Parish School, located at 1290 Alfredo Salazar Street in San Isidro, within Metropolitan Lima.

Belaunde became the first presidential candidate to vote on April 12.

Earlier, he held his traditional election-day breakfast joined by party members.

His presidential ticket includes Pedro Cateriano Bellido as first vice-presidential candidate and Tania Porles Bazalar as second vice-presidential candidate. Together, they will await the official results of the day.

According to the National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (Reniec), more than 27 million Peruvians are eligible to vote at 92,766 polling tables nationwide in a process that will mark the return to a bicameral Congress.

The 2026 election day began nationwide at 7:00 a.m. and will continue until 6:00 p.m., during which citizens can cast their ballots to elect new national authorities.
