President Martin Vizcarra has announced King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain will visit Peru on November 12-13 for an official meeting and to attend a business forum.

"There will also be a Spanish investment forum in Peru. We have been requested to participate there to present the outlooks aimed at increasing investments," the Head of State told Foreign Press Association of Peru (APEP) members.

In this sense, the top official considered that the King's stay in the Inca country —before attending the Ibero-American Summit in Antigua Guatemala— is a gesture of courtesy.

As is known, former Peruvian President Kuczynski (2016-2018) paid an official visit to Spain in June 2017. On the occasion, he held a bilateral meeting with Felipe VI at Zarzuela Palace.

On the other hand, the last State visit of a Spanish monarch to Peru took place in October 2008, made by then-King Juan Carlos I and his wife Sofia.
