The upcoming State visit of King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain to Peru —on November 12-14— will help renew ties with the European country, Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry highlighted.

"The presence of Their Majesties in Peru has particular significance, as it helps strengthen the solid friendship with Spain and renew deep historic-cultural, economic, and cooperation ties binding the two nations," it said in a press release.

The visit will come upon Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra's cordial invitation.

The Spanish royals will have an extensive program of activities including a private meeting with President Vizcarra and State ministers at Lima-based Government Palace to address issues on the bilateral agenda.

Likewise, they will meet with heads of other branches of Government and Lima Mayor Luis Castañeda.

While in the Inca nation, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain will be declared illustrious guests of Lima and handed over the keys to the Peruvian capital.
