President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday affirmed that Peru's health system must make efforts to provide early treatment to people infected with the new coronavirus and prevent them from arriving at hospitals while in delicate state of health.
During his speech, the top official stressed that the availability of medical devices —such as mechanical ventilators around the world— has been reduced due to the great demand from countries affected by the pandemic.
The items are added to the 10 that were delivered a few days ago and acquired from China through the Confiep Emergency Fund. It was supported by the solidary contribution from more than 120 companies, business guilds, and businesspeople committed to supporting the South American country in the fight against COVID-19.
Tuesday marks the ninety-third day of mandatory social isolation in Peru.
