U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence met with Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra in Lima last Saturday to discuss the strong partnership between the two countries, the White House reported.
Within this framework, Mr. Pence thanked Mr. Vizcarra for
hosting the Summit of the Americas in Peru and underscored the need for countries in the region to work together in order to bring democracy back to the people of Venezuela.
Likewise, they agreed to stay in touch to strengthen the robust bilateral relationship between both nations. They also discussed the situation in Syria.
The Peruvian delegation was composed of Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva and Foreign Affairs Minister Nestor Popolizio, among other officials.
On the U.S. side, Mr. Pence was accompanied by Ambassador to Lima Krishna R. Urs.
