Peru: Summit of the Americas' plenary session kicks off

Heads of State and Government attending the 8th Summit of the Americas currently participate in its plenary session, the most important meeting of this inter-American forum.

The event was inaugurated last night by Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra at Lima Convention Center.

Summit of the Americas

The Summit of the Americas process is a mechanism of political consensus and dialogue at the highest level that started in 1994.

Periodically, it brings together the continent's Heads of State and Government to agree on common solutions to priority issues.

At this event, high-ranking officials from the hemisphere will undertake concrete commitments on the topic "Democratic Governance against Corruption."
