Vice-President of the United States, Mike Pence, landed in Lima on Friday afternoon to participate in the 8th Summit of the Americas.
After descending from a U.S. government plane, which landed at Air Group No. 8,
Pence immediately boarded a vehicle escorted by his security team.
The Vice-President arrived in the South American country to join the Summit of the Americas thus replacing U.S. President Donald Trump, who decided to
cancel his participation.
Trump will remain in the United States to supervise the American response to Syria and developments around the world.
Before Pence, Presidents Enrique Peña Nieto (Mexico), Michel Temer (Brazil), Sebastian Piñera (Chile), and Juan Manuel Santos (Colombia) arrived in the Inca nation's capital city for the regional meeting.
