Peru President urges real-estate businesspeople to fight corruption

11:16 | Lima, Nov. 22.

President Martin Vizcarra called on entrepreneurs to banish corruption from authorities and private businesses, as well as to work for Peruvians' well-being.

"We want you to help us. From the Government we are carrying out changes aimed at working with transparency and honesty," the Head of State expressed.

"You can be assured that if you support us, we will have a greater perspective of progress and development in the country," he added.

In this sense, the top official indicated that if corruption —which existed within authorities and involved private companies— is eradicated or significantly reduced, then initiatives to improve citizens' quality of life will be developed.

The statesman highlighted he receives the population's support —when he visits the country's regions— due to the efforts he has been undertaking to fight corruption

Likewise, this encouragement gives him strength, since Peruvians have shown their willingness to confront this scourge, as well as their commitment towards the nation.

"This effort has to be shared by the businesspeople, too," President Vizcarra emphasized.

Furthermore, the Head of State pointed out it is important to seek unity between companies and the State for the well-being of all citizens.

Remarks were made during Expo Real State Peru 2018's closing ceremony. The event was organized by Association of Real-Estate Developers (ADI).
