The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti has urged Peruvians aged above 47, who reside in Lima and Callao, to attend the Vaccinathon —a mass vaccination event against COVID-19 that will begin today at 7:00 a.m. (local time) and end on Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

"It is very important to receive both doses; it is the way to protect ourselves against contagion and the effects of the COVID-19 virus," the top official indicated.

"It is your opportunity to lend a shoulder for Peru in the Bicentennial of our Independence. Join the Vaccinathon," he emphasized.

The first Vaccinathon is designed so that citizens aged between 47 and 49 receive the first dose. Besides, people over 50 years of age can get the second dose that is pending or those, who are lagging behind, can be duly immunized.
