Peru President to address UN General Assembly today

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra will today deliver a speech at the Plenary Meeting of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly held in New York City.

On this occasion, the President will address topics linked to sustainable development, the state of the nation, as well as the efforts undertaken by his administration with the purpose of enhancing Peruvian citizens' quality of life.


Afterward, the top official met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (Canada), as well as with Presidents Miguel Diaz-Canel (Cuba) and Mario Abdo (Paraguay). Topics addressed included bilateral relations.


As is known, President Vizcarra officially took office on March 23 to replace resigning Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. His term will end in July 2021.
