Peru President meets Cuba, Paraguay counterparts

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Monday met with counterparts Miguel Diaz-Canel (Cuba) and Mario Abdo Benitez (Paraguay).

Cuba

The meeting with Diaz-Canel took place on the 15th floor of the UN Secretariat Building, where the leaders greeted each other and spoke for over 15 minutes.

Both dignitaries addressed the bilateral relationship and matters related to the global situation, as well as perspectives on trade and cooperation ties between the two nations.

Likewise, they agreed to continue strengthening cultural and sports relations, which promote the development of new talents in diverse disciplines.

Paraguay

Afterwards, Vizcarra held a private audience with Abdo Benitez with whom he talked for nearly 20 minutes in the North Lawn Building.

On this occasion, the Peruvian Head of State verified the excellent status of bilateral relations, reflected on high commercial, industrial, and investment levels for the benefit of more citizens.

Furthermore, they agreed on the defense of democratic values, as well as the promotion of human rights and cooperation on cultural aspects, which boost the comprehensive development of people from both countries.


Previously, the Peruvian Head of State attended the UN High-Level Event on Counter-Narcotics and the Climate Week NYC.

The meetings took place within the framework of the 73rd UN General Assembly currently underway in New York City.
