Peru President thanks Congress for confidence vote

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday thanked Congress for having granted the confidence vote to the Ministerial Cabinet led by Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva.

Via Twitter, Vizcarra congratulated Villanueva for his presentation on the Executive Branch's guidelines and general policy.

He also ratified his administration's commitment to working hard in order to bring well-being and development to all Peruvians.

As is known, Congress gave a confidence vote to the Ministerial Cabinet on Wednesday night following several hours of debate.

Within this framework, Parliament supported the Cabinet with 94 votes in favor, 19 against, and 02 abstentions.

Villanueva's presentation began on Wednesday at 10:20 AM (local time) and lasted less than two hours. It was followed by a long debate among legislators.

At 11:53 PM (local time), the Legislative Power approved the request previously submitted by the Executive Branch.
