Peru: President strongly condemns Fernando Villavicencio assassination

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Friday strongly condemned the assassination of Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio, which occurred two days ago.


Within this framework, the Head of State expressed her sorrow over the events that occurred recently and plunged Ecuador into mourning.

"I want to make a pause to strongly condemn the assassination of presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio that occurred last Wednesday," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.


The top official also conveyed her condolences to Villavicencio's relatives.

"Our condolences to the relatives of brave journalist and politician Fernando Villavicencio and to the people of the neighboring country over this reprehensible act," she stated.

Ecuadorian presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio was assassinated last Wednesday while he was participating in a campaign event in a central sector of Quito.
