Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra extended his Teacher's Day greetings on Friday, reiterating his Government's commitment to education and quality of teaching.
Via social media, the Head of State assured such responsibility "is still in place" and involves
teachers "for our children, for our young people."
"Thank you,
teachers on the coast, the highlands, and jungle. Happy
Teacher's Day to men and women all over Peru!" reads his post on Twitter.
In a different tweet, the statesman acknowledged Peruvian
teachers' hard work and gave a special mention to his mother and wife —both educators.
On the occasion of
Teacher's Day in Peru, the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported there are 600,000 teachers all over the country.
