President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday said that education is the factor of change required to move the country forward.

Likewise, he requested citizens to work together with the purpose of achieving development and well-being for the benefit of all Peruvians.

"That depends on you and us. Help me change the education (system) in Peru. If we work together, we are going to make that possible," he told schoolchildren attending Cajamarca's San Ramon Emblematic School.

"That's why I'm here," he added.

Joined by Ministers Daniel Alfaro (Education) and Nestor Popolizio (Foreign Affairs), Vizcarra noted he has arrived in the North-Andean city to listen to the needs of the population and find solutions to their problems.

"Cajamarca is very rich, but there is still a lot to be done. That's why we have come (here), to work with its authorities and make the region's projects a reality, but the most important thing to achieve development is education," he expressed.

After thanking the welcome given by the San Ramon educational community, the Head of State affirmed that enthusiasm makes him work increasingly better.
