The current Head of State and Government Francisco Sagasti met with President-elect Pedro Castillo at the Lima-based Government Palace on Wednesday afternoon to discuss the transfer process and issues of national interest.

The runoff election winner accessed the Government Palace through the Desamparados gate at 4:00 p.m. (local time). At this point, 51-year-old Castillo was received by President Sagasti.

After greeting reporters, both of them entered the Executive Branch headquarters, where they held a meeting.

Following two and a half hours, the guests left the Government Palace.
