Peru: President receives second COVID-19 vaccine dose

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Saturday evening received the second dose of the vaccine against the novel coronavirus.

The vaccination of the Head of State and First Lady Lilia Paredes took place at 6:40 p.m. (local time) at Huiracocha Zonal Park in Lima's San Juan de Lurigancho district.

After receiving the second dose, the top official requested citizens to get vaccinated, as well as to trust and have faith in the Government.

The process was held within the framework of the Vaccinathon. The event began this morning at 7:00 a.m. (local time) and will end 36 hours later in Lima Metropolitan Area, Callao, and other 17 regions across the country.

As is known, the President received the first dose of the Sinopharm vaccine on August 6.
