Peru: President participates in Constitutional Court jurisdictional year opening ceremony

| Lima, Jan. 17.
The
President of the Republic Dina Boluarte
on Tuesday morning participated in the ceremony marking the opening of the
Constitutional Court (TC)
jurisdictional year.
The ceremony was held at the TC headquarters in Downtown Lima. It was attended by the chairs of State powers.
The heads of the
National Elections Board (JNE)
, the
National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE)
, and the
National Registry of Identification and Civil Status (RENIEC)
were present at the event.
The ceremony started after 11:00 a.m. (local time) with the entry of authorities, followed by the speech of honor by
Constitutional Court Chairman Francisco Morales Saravia
.
The
Constitutional Court
is the supreme organ of interpretation and control of constitutionality. It is autonomous and independent because it does not depend on any constitutional body in the exercise of its powers.
