Peru President meets with UN Secretary General

President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday held a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

In this sense, both officials addressed regional and Amazon issues —such as the Leticia Pact— as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

As is known, the Head of State will attend the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly.

The participation of Peru at the UN General Assembly represents an important opportunity for the promotion of national interests included in the development, cooperation, peace, and security goals of the Peruvian State's foreign policy.

The gathering will address diverse issues such as the promotion of sustainable economic growth and sustainable developments; peacekeeping and international security; human rights promotion; drug control, crime prevention, and the fight against international terrorism, as well as other matters of international interest.
