Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday affirmed that several economic-productive infrastructure measures have been approved to improve the quality of life of citizens over the past 20 months —the time he has been in office.
"As stated in the report, large social gaps still exist in Lima and large urban centers across the country, thus remaining outside of development and prosperity," the Head of State affirmed.
"Aware of this challenge, we have enacted a set of social and institutional economic-productive infrastructure measures during our 20 months in office, with the aim of improving the quality of life of our citizens," he added.
In this sense, the statesman explained that inequality not only refers to economic differences among citizens of different socioeconomic levels, but "to differences among
those who have access to health services and those who do not."
Mr. Vizcarra thanked the National Agreement and the United Nations Development Programme for tackling crucial issues such as equality, human development and equity.
"The fight for equality and the fight against corruption are two issues on which consensus is visible in Peru. These two topics are addressed by the national agenda, political speeches, the discourse of candidates, the media, social networks, surveys, debates, and homes," he stated.
