The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra currently leads a new session of the Council of Ministers, following
the vote of confidence granted by Congress to the Cabinet led by Prime Minister Walter Martos.
The session takes place at the Lima-based Government Palace and sees the participation of Martos and State ministers.
After a 12-hour debate, Parliament granted its confidence to
the Ministerial Cabinet, which received 115 votes in favor, 5 against and 4 abstentions.
The votes in favor were from the following political groups: Accion Popular, Alianza para el Progreso, Somos Peru, Partido Morado, Frepap, Fuerza Popular, Union por el Peru (UPP) and Podemos.
On the other hand, four legislators of Frente Amplio and one of UPP voted against it, while three lawmakers of Frente Amplio and one of Accion Popular abstained.
