Peru: President included in first vaccination phase

The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti was included in Phase I of the "Vaccination Phases" comprising the technical document titled: Vaccination Plan against COVID-19.

Tonight, the Head of State will provide an assessment of the vaccination process against the novel coronavirus started today in the South American country.

Subsequently, the top official will receive the first dose of the vaccine at the facilities of the Central Military Hospital in Lima.

The immunization process began with the administration of the vaccine that the Peruvian Government acquired from the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm. It will serve to fight head-on against the pandemic nationwide.

With 300,000 vaccine doses purchased from the aforementioned laboratory that arrived last Sunday, health personnel linked to intensive care units, laboratories, and hospitalization services will be immunized during the first phase of the ongoing vaccination process.
