"The projected growth for Peru this year is close to 3%. This growth, higher than the average (projected) for Latin America, cannot make us lose sight of the great challenges and needs we face in terms of the development of our country and the social equity (…)," the Head of State expressed.

On the other hand, he commented that the National Competitiveness and Productivity Plan for 2019-2030 was published last July. It includes more than 80 concrete measures to remove barriers and facilitate investments, which generate quality employment and higher income.

"One of these measures is the National Infrastructure Plan, which defines the vision, prioritizes projects, and articulates investment from a sector-oriented, territorial perspective of development," he added.

Furthermore, the top official indicated that this Plan prioritizes the execution of 52 projects with a positive impact on the competitiveness and well-being of the population throughout Peru.

"The projects involve an investment of approximately S/100 billion (about US$30.3 billion) that will help close gaps in key sectors (…)," he concluded.
