The purpose of the meeting was to promote Peru as an attractive investment destination, as well as to strengthen economic and business ties with the United States through an official visit by the Head of State to the NYSE.
The NYSE is an important platform for various Peruvian companies that access international capital to finance their operations and create jobs in the South American country.
The visit provided an opportunity to interact with executives of leading companies, participate in ceremonial activities related to the close of the trading session, and engage with media outlets specializing in financial information.
Traditional closing bell
Upon arrival, President Fujimori was welcomed by NYSE President Lynn Martin and met with the institution's executives.
Subsequently, the Peruvian Head of State went to the Trading Floor to sign the Bell Ringer Book and take part in a photo session.
Finally, Peru's top official took part in the traditional NYSE closing bell ceremony, accompanied by Lynn Martin and Peruvian delegation members.
