Peru President: Corruption will not prevail in the country

President Martin Vizcarra on Monday affirmed corruption will not prevail over the country.

In this sense, he highlighted Peruvians' commitment to joining efforts to fight this scourge

"Corruption will not prevail over us, in any manner; we will not allow it," the Head of State expressed. 

"Corruption has revealed itself. It already existed years ago. However, we had not made the decision to face it together, and once we made that decision, we knew we could defeat it; we are confident we will do so," he added. 

Remarks were made during the inauguration ceremony of the 7th Social Inclusion Week known as "Connecting Futures: Young People for Development and Social Inclusion."

This event is aimed at calling young Peruvians to take an active role in the Inca country's development

On the occasion, the top official was joined by the nation's ministers, Canada's Saint Paul University Assistant Professor Simon Tremblay-Pepin, diplomats, and international cooperation representatives.
