The
on Thursday led the National Citizen Security Council (Conasec) first ordinary session of 2024.
The session began virtually once the Head of State had confirmed compliance with the regulatory quorum.
As is known, the Conasec is responsible for crafting, leading, and evaluating citizen security policies at the national level with the active participation of State-run agencies, local governments, and the organized community.
It aims to ensure the full exercise of the rights enshrined in the Political Constitution of Peru, as well as the peaceful coexistence.
The Conasec is made up of the ministers of Interior, Justice-Human Rights, Education, Health, and Economy-Finance.
It is also composed of a representative of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Attorney General, the Ombudsman, two Regional Governors, the Lima Metropolitan Mayor, among others.
