Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra announced that on Monday, February 3, he will
engage in dialogue with four political forces that will be represented in Congress following the
January 26 parliamentary elections.
Speaking from the northern city of Piura, where he put three bridges into operation, Vizcarra said he will meet with three additional groups on Tuesday.
"The confirmation of two parties is still missing, as they are slated to gather between Monday and Tuesday. They opted to hold internal meetings before making a decision. Accion Popular and Union por el Peru have not confirmed their participation yet. The arrangements have been made with the other seven parties," he pointed out.
This round of meetings, he affirmed, shows the willingness to work together for the benefit of the country.
The Head of State reaffirmed that the Executive Branch will propose its work agenda and will also hear that of the nine political groups that passed the 5% electoral threshold in order to see the coincidences —such as the
fight against corruption— and take them into account when getting to work.
