14:35 | Lima, Jul. 2.

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday affirmed the National Assembly of Regional Governments (ANGR) supported the bill —submitted by the Executive Branch to Congress— aimed at guaranteeing the availability of generic medications in pharmacies nationwide.

According to the Head of State, the initiative has received great support from the regions, which strengthens the Executive Branch's efforts to continue working in order to improve Peruvians' quality of life

In this sense, the top official recalled the actions undertaken by his administration in the health sector are aimed not only at building hospitals, but also at making sure affordable medications are available to the country's families

On the other hand, the statesman underlined the central and regional governments agreed —at the GORE-Executive meeting— on the urgency to make an effort to articulate the entire national territory.

In this sense, he indicated there are plans to build highways through "logistic corridors" across the country.

Likewise, President Vizcarra noted the central government and regions agreed on and ratified the commitment to working together on key social sectors, such as education and health

Furthermore, they coincided that it is necessary to support the agricultural sector, as a great number of people depend on said economic activity.

Remarks were made during the closing ceremony of the 11th GORE-Executive meeting at Lima-based Government Palace.

GORE-Executive meetings are aimed to spur actions that will encourage further development in the nation.
