Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez on Tuesday presented the
brand to the agro-export business community.
It should be noted pisco is recognized as a
Peruvian drink in 71 countries.
Brand registration
Furthermore, the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) handed over the recognition of the brand's registration to the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).
Agro-exports
On the other hand, Minister Vasquez pointed out
agro-exports have become the second-largest income generating activity in Peru, after the mining sector.
"Peru is one of the global leaders in
agro-exports," the official underlined.
In this sense, the Inca country is the top exporter of asparagus and
quinoa, the second-largest of tangerines, as well as the third-biggest of
grapes and paprika.
