Peru PM: Cabinet more integrated than ever

10:00 | Lima, May. 17.

Peru's Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos on Sunday affirmed that the Ministerial Cabinet as a whole is more integrated than ever, with permanent meetings, under the leadership of President Martin Vizcarra.

Zeballos said he regrets that "distorted and malicious" comments are being thrown around to spread some level of doubt among the public opinion.

Remarks were made in Lima before leaving for the rainforest region of Loreto so as to deliver medical aid.

In this regard, the Cabinet chief noted that now is not the time to create uncertainty and concern.

"On the contrary, it is time for authorities and citizens to claim unity, consensus, respect, and commitment to those who we owe it, the citizens, who cry out for better health care," he expressed.

Help for Loreto

Joined by Ministers Gaston Rodriguez (Interior), and Gloria Montenegro (Women), the President of the Council of Ministers brought 11 tons of health aid to Loreto, as well as a contingent of health professionals to reinforce care for coronavirus patients.

The delegation also features Deputy Interculturality Minister Angela Acevedo, who seeks to assess the situation of indigenous people, as well as the Susalud superintendent, who will fulfill his regulatory and controlling role in the health service.
