Peru PM highlights work with local governments to enforce COVID-19 measures

Peruvian Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos on Friday highlighted the joint work with local governments in order to enforce safety measures amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Remarks were made as he visited Retail Market No. 6 of Pucallpa, which features more than 1,000 stalls.

While there, the Cabinet chief ensured that people maintain social distancing practices, enter the place in an orderly manner, and follow hand washing protocols.

The President of the Council of Minister arrived in the rainforest city of Pucallpa to supervise the delivery of equipment and supplies destined for first-level health care facilities.

Additionally, a working meeting with the COVID-19 Operations Command team in Ucayali region was arranged as part of his visit.

Zeballos was joined by Women and Vulnerable Populations Minister Gloria Montenegro, Deputy Public Health Minister Nancy Zerpa, and Deputy Interculturality Minister Angela Acevedo.

The delegation brought one mechanical ventilator, 5 PUAO ventilators, 4,750 rapid tests, personal protective equipment, and medicines in order to enhance the health system in Ucayali.
