The participation was part of efforts to strengthen Peru's foreign policy, the National Maritime Policy, and the institutional positioning of its Navy.
The forum, which brings together more than 100 countries, serves as the organization's main governance body, where strategic guidelines and technical decisions for the development of hydrography worldwide are adopted.
The secretary-general for the 2026–2029 term was also elected during this edition.
"Peru stood out for its active participation in technical committees, contributing to the strengthening of international standards and initiatives linked to navigation safety and knowledge of the marine environment, as well as to the proper safeguarding of its maritime interests and those of the region," the Navy stated.
Third place
Through the presentation of a national stand, Peru showcased its hydrographic, oceanographic, and Antarctic capabilities, securing third place among 22 countries following a vote by participating States.
