Peru: Over 20,000 tourists to visit Mancora beaches this Holy Week

Punta Sal

16:31 | Talara (Piura region), Mar. 29.

At least 20,000 tourists will arrive at Talara's top beaches —including those in Mancora— during the Holy Week holidays on March 29-April 1.

For this reason, local tourism authorities and National Police agents held a meeting to make decisions in favor of visitors.

In this regard, Mancora District Mayor Florencio Olibos announced a larger number of people will visit Talara's beaches over the weekend, once thousands of vacationers have arrived in Catacaos district for Holy Week activities.

Olibos went on to say he had met with other district mayors, police officers, and Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) representatives to implement a contingency plan.

Said initiative is intended to ensure the tourists' safety, as well as an orderly flow of traffic in the city.

As is known, Mancora was praised by Bloomberg back in 2017.
