Peru's northern Mancora beach area has been featured by Bloomberg Pursuits, the media giant's hub for lifestyle news and luxury reviews on the best food, fashion and travel.

Known for its surfing waves, year-round warm water and pulsating nightlife, Mancora was included in "These Are the Best Undiscovered Beaches in the World," a recent review under Bloomberg Pursuits' Luxury Travel category.

The article lists six under-the-radar destinations for those seeking to truly get away.

"These untrammeled landscapes are postcard-perfect, free of photo-bombing tourists and full of secret coves just waiting for you to discover them," the publication said of the hidden gems.

Although well-known among Peruvians, Mancora still remains unknown to the bulk of international tourists, who are mainly drawn to sites like South-Andean Cusco region.

"This beach is popular with locals, but few Western visitors have discovered it," Latin America enthusiast and president of Big Five Tours Ashish Sanghrajka was quoted as saying by Bloomberg Pursuits.

"That's because most travelers to Peru head inland to the Sacred Valley, rather than up the coast. That's a big mistake," he pointed out.

Mancora shares the recognition with five other paradises on Earth: Zakynthos (Greece), Sint Eustatius (Caribbean Netherlands), Andamans (India), coastal Portugal and Likoma Island (Malawi).

The beach town of Mancora lies 1,167 kilometers north of Lima, close to the border of Ecuador.
